Why You Don’t Have Flat Abs

Do you ever feel like you should have had those flat abs that you desire by now?

Do you feel that you’ve put in enough work to see better results than those you have?

The truth is that there is probably a very simple reason why you don’t have flat abs today, even as we speak. In this article I want to talk about a number of the common reasons why people don’t have flat abs. Make sure none of these apply to you.

why am i fat

Reason #1 – Doing cardio the wrong way

There was a time in which “experts” recommended nothing more than doing cardio at a medium pace for an hour a few times a week to lose weight.

If you’re the kind of person who gets on a treadmill or an elliptical machine for 45 minutes 4 times a week and feels frustrated that you just can’t seem to lose your belly fat, don’t feel bad. You’ve been misled.

The truth is that the right way to do cardio to lose fat isn’t to do a medium paced long session. A much better way is to do it fast and short and divided into intervals. In addition, you need to focus on the more intensive workouts to get the best results. Rowing and running are two good options.

Reason #2 – Doing too many ab exercises

While focused stomach exercises have their place, you can’t expect to lose belly fat with them, at least not enough to get flat abs.

The reality is that you can’t spot reduce fat. You can’t do ab exercises and expect to lose fat from your abs. Your body doesn’t burn fat from a specific place. It burns fat from all over your body.

This is why you need to do the exercises that burn the most fat in general. Ab exercises are usually not among these exercises.

A lot of people spend much of their gym time on doing these exercises. This is a sure way to get little if any results.

Reason #3 – Using ab machines

Ab machines certainly look good on TV but are they really worth the money?

For the most part, the answer is know. Ab machines are usually expensive and for little reason. They often don’t offer any better workout experience than do regularab exercises.

In addition, even if they did, we’ve already talked about how spot fat reduction is a myth so what’s the point of paying $200 for a machine that can’t help you even if it’s good? Usually, it’s better to save your money and do regular exercises.

Reason #4 – Not making a real effort

Some people go to the gym regularly and go through the motions when they’re there. This isn’t enough to get flat abs. You have to make a true and real effort in the gym day after day. If you don’t you will never be able to get the kind of results you want.

Make every workout you do count and be effective. Make sure to use your time effectively when at the gym and focus on your workout and not on socializing or anything else.

Reason #5 – Eating badly

There’s a lot of misinformation about the food we eat and that we should eat. Too many advertisements, sponsored research, and myths crowd our attention and prevent us from having the right information about how to eat healthy and for weight loss.

This, however, is the most crucial point of all. It’s very hard to outtrain a bad diet. It’s much easier to consume calories than to burn them off. This is why your diet is the most important thing you need to take care of. One good article to read in this regard is this one about vegetables that help burn belly fat.

In Conclusion

Now is the time to ask yourself: am I doing everything I need to be doing to lose belly fat or am I making one of the 5 mistakes I’ve outlined above? You know what you need to do.
