Discover What Really Causes Belly Fat
Most people believe that gaining weight around the midsection or anywhere else is caused by just 2 things:
1. Bad diet
2. Lack of exercise
Indeed, a bad nutrition and lack of physical activity contribute to weight gain and they're the most common
cause of belly fat or any other kind of fat for that matter. However, these are not the only possible causes that
you need to consider and address in your quest to lose belly fat and get flat abs. On this
page I would like to share some more with you.
Genetics
Some people have a pear shaped body which means that they tend to gain weight on their thighs and buttocks.
Others, have an apple shaped body type which means that they tend to gain more weight in their midsection.
This has nothing to do with how you live your life, but is pure genetics. If you're an apple shaped person, it
doesn't mean that you will have excess belly fat, only that if you do gain weight, a lot of it will be naturally
stored around your abdomen.
Menopause
Men tend to gain weight around the belly and women in their lower body. This is because women have a lot of
Estrogen in their body, the female hormone. However, when Menopause begins, the amount of Estrogen drops
drammatically, so the weight begins to shift around the body similar to how it would be for men.
Slower metabolism
I have friends who eat the same as they have 5 years ago but now they're gaining weight. What is happening?
With age, our metabolism naturally slows down. We need to watch what we eat more carefully and to workout more
rigorously to lose or maintain our weight.
This is inevitable which is why it's important that you begin working on losing belly fat as soon as
possible.
Bad digestion
Not being able to properly digest your food can cause a whole range of problems. One of these problems is
stomach bloating in which you look fatter than you really are.
If you suffer from gas or repeated stomach aches, you may suffer from indigestion and should consult a
doctor.
Indigestion can also be caused by late night eating. This happens because you go to bad before your body had the
chance to deal with your newly eaten food.
Bad Posture
Not assuming a good posture doesn't really cause stomach fat to appear. However, it can make you look like your
belly is flabbier than it really is. In addition, not walking straight can cause back problems, so make sure to
watch how you carry yourself.
Furthermore, walking straight actually works the abs muscles because it keeps them stretched, so it's a great
way to exercise the stomach.
Where to go From Here
I hope I've given you something to think about. You should examine your life to see if your belly fat is caused
by any of the above mentioned causes. However, in the majority of cases, a more lean eating plan and a good and
solid exercise routine will do wonders.
Don't think that your belly fat is something which you can do nothing about. You can and should work hard to
make exercise a part of your routine and to treat your body with respect by eating healthy.
