Weight Loss
Motivation
Every weight loss process has ups and downs. It's nearly
impossible to have a smooth and totally easy time of losing
weight. First of all, you need to change how and what you eat
and may be forced to five up on some of the food that you
like.
Second, you may need to begin exercising more rigorously,
free up some time for the gym or even taking an evening walk
outside.
Many times, you will see your weight fluctuate up and down
even if the weight loss plan your on is working. If you're not
prepared to deal with all of these things, you may lose your
motivation and end up giving up on the program you're
using.
So, keeping motivated is extremely important whether you're
trying to shed a few pounds or are working like mad to
flatten your abs.
For that reason, I want to share a few tips.
Weight Loss Motivation Tip #1 - Set
Mini-Goals
You likely have some goal in mind when you begin a new
diet and fitness program. You may want to shed a certain number
of pounds or tone your thighs, or get perfect abs. It's good to
have a mega-goal in mind and to picture it often, but I
recommend setting mini-goals along the way.
The reasons why mini-goals are important is that achieving
your ultimate goal may take some time. To keep your motivation
high, you need to have milestones along the way. Everytime you
reach a milestone, you will instantly feel better about the
entire process and your motivation will remain high.
For instance, say you want to get flat abs. Set mini-goals of
losing inches from your waist. Every time you lose an inch
you've achieved a mini-goal and can feel better. We all need
successes to keep us going. By setting small, achievable goals,
you create your own successes for you.
Thse successes will keep you going, allow you to celebrate
your progress and prevent the feeling of failure which may come
by setting goals which will take too long to accomplish.
Fat Loss Motivation Tips #3 - Don't Weigh Yourself
Often
One of the biggest mistakes you can make when trying to lose
fat is to weigh or measure yourself too often. I understand
that you want to see results and that each pound that goes away
is a major victory, but things take time. Weight loss is no
exception. Things won't happen overnight, so it's pointless to
put yourself in a position in which you'll be disappointed.
Furthermore, each weight loss process has its ups and downs,
and your weight will fluctuate along the way. You can't let any
temporary set back influence your motivation and mood. If you
do, you will never be able to stay on course and see the
process through.
I recommend weighing or measuring yourself no more than once
a week. If you can do it once every 10 days that's even better.
Any more than that is setting yourself up for needless
disappointment.
Weight Loss Motivation Tip #3 - Get Some Social
Support
No weight loss process is free of difficulty. You will also
experience some bumps along the way. It would be better if you
didn't have to face them all alone.
One thing you can do is get yourself a weight loss buddy
which is someone who is also trying to lose weight or get
toned. Having a buddy to workout with or just share what you're
going through is a powerful way to stay focused and
determined.
Enlisting the support of your family is also important. They
will need to understand what you're trying to do and help in
any way they can, like taking care of household chores so you
have time to go to the gym, or avoiding eating fatty food
before your eyes and causing unnecessary temptation.
You'd be surprised by how much people will be willing to
help if you just fill them in on what you're trying to do.
Of course, you can always Contact
Me and ask me any question as well.
