Why is it Hard
to Lose Lower Belly Fat
While many people struggle with belly fat, no area in the
abdomen causes as much frustration as the lower stomach
area. People spend hours doing lower stomach exercises but
still hate how it looks.
Why is that? what makes the lower stomach such a hard area
to tone down?
A lot of how our lower tummy looks has to do with the modern
way of life. Most of us spend many hours each day sitting at
work and at home. We hardly walk as straight as we can and
should.
This means that throughout the day, the lower stomach
muscles are hardly working. I'm talking about day to day
activity like walking, sitting, lying down, working, driving,
and so on.
While we engage in these day to day activities, our lower
abdomen is always relaxed. It is hardly ever straining.
This means that our muscles in that area are just not
working as hard as our leg muscles do, for instance (since we
operate them while walking). Unless we take specific action to
exercise the lower belly, it just doesn't get any
stimulation.

This accounts for the fact that in most people, the lower
abs are far from toned. You need to work hard on them to do
so.
Of course, this has nothing to do with the amount of flab we
have in our lower abdomen. Since we can't spot reduce fat from a specific area
of our body we don't accumulate fat in our lower stomach
because we hardly work that area.
Our genetics are to blame for that.
But because our muscles are naturally less toned in our
lower abs, they tend to look saggy and weak.
What can you do about it?
The first thing you can do is make sure to inclue
lower belly exercises in
your workout routine. This will help you tone your lower abs so
they look firmer, sleeker, and more taut.
The second thing you need to do is simple watch what you eat
and engage in exercises which burn the most fat. These
exercises include high intensity interval cardio workouts and
full body high intensity weight training or bodyweight
training.
The third thing is to try and work the lower abs during the
day. One way is to simply walk straight. This means the stomach
is straining a bit while you walk. Another way is to flex your
abs every once in a while even if you're sitting down at work.
It can help in the long run.
You may be feeling that this is all hopeless, but I assure
you that it's not. You can lose lower belly fat. It's only a
matter of burning enough body fat to do so. Once you burn
enough fat, your body has no choice but to lose fat from your
trouble spots. It's all a matter of time and effort.
