How Men Can Reduce Their Waist Size
Love handles are usually thought of as a woman problem. This is so not true. There are plenty of men who want to
lose inches off their waist because they know that having a
nice waistline will make them look and feel better.
There are also studies that indicate that excessive belly and waist fat (which in my mind are closely connected)
may pose a serious health risk which is why you should definitely make the effort to burn off as much of it as
possible.
In this short article I want to present some basic tips on how to reduce waist size for men who feel they need
to tone their waistline a bit.
One Abs Program I highly recommend
Before I go on with my tips, I want to share with you that much of what I write here I learned from an excellent
abs program that I use myself called Truth About Abs.
This is a program that can deliver results for you so, if you're looking for a fast way to reduce waist
size, I highly recommend it. You can read a complete review of this program here: Truth About Six Pack Abs Review
Don't worry, this isn't a sales pitch, just my personal recommendation. Read on for some things you can do
yourself right now to tone your waist.
How to burn waist fat
If you want to reduce the size of your waist, you're going to have to focus on fat burning. The reason why your
waistline is not as trim as you like it to be is that you have excess body fat. You have to get rid of this
fat. It won't happen of its own, you need to work on it.
While doing focused waist toning exercises can be useful and I'll get to some of them further down this page, if
you want to lose your love handles you're going to have to take a more
generalized perspective.
The reality is that doing targeted waist exercises will not get rid of the excess fat for you. The reason is
that you can't just pick and choose which body part to lose fat from. You can't just decide, "Oh, today I'll do
some waist exercises and burn those love handles right off". I wish this was possible but it's not the case. In
fact, this is of the most common exercise myths of all time.
What does happen is that you either lose fat from all over your body or not at all. Burn more body fat and you
will also reduce your waist.
To burn the most body fat, you need to focus on those exercises that are more effective fat burners. These
mostly include strength exercises that involve multiple muscle groups (something that targeted waist exercises do
not do) and are very intensive. These include squats, push ups, lat pulldowns, and a variety of other
fat burning exercises. A good rule of thumb is that you need to
really feel like your entire body is being stimulated, not just one body part.
You also need to do some intensive cardio workouts in order to
lose waist inches. I advise doing interval training as this is an excellent way to burn more body fat fast.
Intervals are done by combining high intensity segments and low intensity segments in the same workout. For
instance, sprinting for 30 seconds followed by 90 seconds of brisk walking is one set of interval training. Doing
it over and over again for 20 minutes or so would be a complete workout. This is just an example, you can do this
with any cardio exercise you choose, not just running.
It was discovered that doing intervals helps to burn more fat faster than regular workouts. It also saves you a
lot of time as the length of the workouts can be very short.
Intervals are the right way to do cardio workouts to reduce waist
size.
Waist Exercises
As the waist begins to melt off your waist you will also want to work on your muscle tone there. Now that your
muscles can actually show beneath the thinner layer of fat, the more defined they are, the better you will
look.
To do that you do need to do some waist slimming exercises. These include
side crunches with a ball or a cable, standing side bends, russian twists, windshield wipers, and general oblique
exercises.
Your nutrition
You can't expect to reduce your waist size without also following a sound nutrition plan. I happen to recommend
the Diet Solution Program as it's not just a weight loss plan but an overall
health nutrition program but you can also follow some simple guidelines yourself:
- Reduce alcohol (they don't call it a beer belly for nothing)
- Eliminate any sugary sodas. Even diet sodas aren't the best
thing for you.
- Cut out the white flour and refined sugar from your diet.
- Do eat lots of fruit and vegetables.
- As long as you workout hard, do indulge yourself in some "undietary" foods once a week.
- Eat lean protein such as eggs, chicken, and low fat dairy.
- Don't use any "miracle pills".
In Conclusion
I hope these tips on how to reduce waist size for men have given you the right foundation on which to learn
proper workout and nutrition principles. Follow these principles and I'm sure you'll get results.
Be patien, you won't get optimal results over night. However, if you workout hard and eat right, you will lose
waist inches and burn belly fat. Of that there is no doubt in my
mind.
